HOLY FUCK IT AIN'T KITSUNE

Yohooho folks!! It's been soo long since I spoke about anything 'sept Kitsune I'm suprised I can still do it! But I love variety so I have been listening to other shit! Yesh so In my search of new music, And by new music I dont mean sutting that's just hit th scenes..It's just kinda new to me( Hell I only realised Muse existed a year ago..Guess that's what happens when you'r brought up on Hip-hop & Rap XD ), I stumbled across STAARK! This band describes themeselves as “electro velvet pop.

So I was checking out this bands website (Google it Baka :|) and it seems they dig their anime/manga so that makes them supah popular here at the Iikagen Centre >.> and by centre I mean the dark hole me and T7e, 8BG and kzaaws live in O_o.

Without further ado here's ze music

Staark - Think Out Loud

Staark - From the Other Room (demo)

I'll hopefully get a review out on their debut Album "Noises" as soon as they decide to release it :p.

But before that I'd really be intrested in what you think of them... Leave a comment you lazy, lazy, lazy... Even if it's to say "Wow KZA get with the times man, everyone already knows about this band :|"

Peace 4 now

Ragin'

Oh hello, still kicking about? My sincerest apologies for the delay for a proper post. But hey, if your still tuned in, all of us here appreciate it! :)

Well to get on with the it. My previous post... needs to be revisited. I gave KiD CuDi's album Man on the Moon: End of the Day a goood thorough listen (after posting it up! See, i do care about our viewers!) And I can truly say KiD CuDi may have just saved the life of hip-hop. Fuckin' debut with an album containing MGMT and Ratatat in the same fucking song, then you got something good. That being said, I'm not posting up Pursuit of Happiness. Mainly because it's been blogged to shit already. Instead here's a few of the other tracks that show KiD CuDi's debut would be great even without this track (although it is the best track on it IMO!)

First, I really enjoyed listening to Soundtrack 2 My Life. I get a very nostalgic feel with this song, CuDi discusses his rise to fame and background etc. And one thing I would like to point out is he sings in his songs. Not the greatest singer, but the point is he isn't afraid to sing which means a lot, not completely depending on a quick beat and a constant flow of rapping. Also, note that Common introduces the new Acts, now that's Cool.

KiD CuDi - Soundtrack 2 My Life (Right-Click to save)

Ratatat also produce another song in this album, Alive (Nightmare) and I gotta say it feels more Ratatat's than CuDi's. It's a great thing, it isn't your usual collaborations. The beat has Ratatat's signature eerie and nostalgic feel to it. Great!

KiD CuDi - Alive (Nightmare) (feat. Ratatat) (Right-click to save)

This album has a very dark, theme throughout. Pursuit of Happiness being about chasing happiness through drugs, alcohol etc. An Act named Rise of the Night Terrors... You get the picture. But it ends on a bright note with Up Up & Away. A faster, gutair beat makes an epic ending to a brilliant album. I can't help but smile and sing along with CuDi on this one.

KiD CuDi - Up Up & Away (Wake & Bake Song) (Right-click to save)

Now that's my segment of KiD CuDi is done... here's some other fresh tracks. So good it'll make you want to ultimate punch someone.

[DISCLAIMER: We are not to blame if you decide to do this.]

KZA will be happy about this next track. Does it Offend You, Yeah?'s Epic Last Song. Check. Some heavy raw electro beats courtisy of Jack Beats. Check. An awesome freakin song. Double fucking check.

Does it Offend You, Yeah? - Epic Last Song (Jack Beats Remix) (Right-click to save)

Classic track. Fan of tetris? Well, maybe not a fan but who can't say they've played it. And that goddamn repetitive, catchy track get stuck in your head. Well here's something that gives you a reason to like it. Tetris for a club if you will.

Electrixx - Tetris (Right-click to save)

To finish up let's slow it down with one of my personal highlights from Attack of the Blog compolation. Gotta a great 80s feel to it and very relaxed. Feel good to say the least. :)

Spencer Product - We Bite (Right-click to save)

It's been quite enjoyable doing this post, I know it's good to have consistency, but we're all kinda busy here. So I'm gonna take this oppurtunity to ask any of our viewers, if they'd like to do a guest post, then please contact us via our email: iikagen_metronome@yahoo.co.uk. Get your own music stylings heard.

Oh yeah, almost forgot... here's a little surprise.

Nam Nam Nam Nam... WHEN DO I STOP!?

Howdy! Just wanted to post this great little video to go with an epic song. Birdy Nam Nam is made up 4 DJs from Paris who can synchronise each of their scratches and make a full song... from freakin' scratches(!!) Just look at their video to Abbesses and you'll get the jist of it.

It Is Indeed A Day Of Electricity!

This is what we in the field call... A Mind-f*ck.

And Nazi-Killin'.

Watched Inglorious Basterds yesterday. Quentin Tarintino's movies are always awaited with anticipation & often apprehension. I mean the guy churned out Pulp Fiction, and it's generally hit or miss for most of his films! But this one was a frakin' hit! And you have no idea how glad I am to be able to say that. Haha, go watch it! In the cinema... you dirty Knock-Off Nigels! Oh, the irony!

Definitely a feel good song. As the summer holidays evaporate, for me this wonderful track seems to commemorate it.

Sunny Periot - This Day Of Electricity (Right-Click & enjoy!)

You Want Some Of This Shit?

A Bearbot =)

As promised I am doing a little post on just some crackin' tracks that have been hoggin my headphones. No theme, no shit. Just a few tracks! And I have to minus SMD's full album from this post. :(

First up... Futurecop! is a band composed of two dudes that wanted to revive the 80s. Their EP The Unicorn & the Lost City of Alvograth is composed of some stuff that shows they're well on their way to hitting us on the face with some great 80. But here's soemthing I just happened to stumble on yesterday, a mash of Futurecop!'s NASA and MSTRKRFT's Bounce. Oh Hell Yeah.

Futurecop! Vs MSTRKRFT - NASA Vs Bounce (Three Finger's Bootleg) (Right-Click & Save)

I've been keeping a close eye on Henry Homesweet - a Chiptune artist, since hearing his great Okii Robo Navigation System. This is a bit different, adding a thumping electro back-beat along with his signature 8-bit sounds.

Henry Homesweet - Until I Sleep (Right-Click & Save)

How bout a little Dada Life to keep up the pace... Don't Feed the Dada is the epic starter to their album Just Do The Dada. That sentence's has too many Dada's in it! Anyway, it's something you must listen to with the volume very very high!

Dada Life - Don't Feed The Dada (Right-Click & Save)

EEPROM is an independent artist and if you like this track I am putting up you should head on over to his website for some more of his great mixes and his full album Squares & Signals for FREE! Check it out here.

EEPROM - 8-Bit Touch Remix (Feat. The Low Pros) (Right-Click & Save)

Another independent duo of awesome remixers are BEARBOT. Who are they? Well... once upon a time a bear met a robot and they made sweet love and had a bearbot. Well that's what it says under their bio anyway! So here's a 15-minute electro/hip-hop mix by them. Seriously worth a listen. Also, they're mediafire page has ALL their tracks. Again, for FREE. Jesus, I love independent artists!

BEARBOT - Mixtape
(Right-Click & Save)

I am exhausted! I hope you enjoy listening to any of the tracks. Remember we always appreciate your input.

Temporary Pleasure

Been a while hasn't it? And I guess that's my fault! Been watching movies. Fido, Go-Getter, In Bruges. All are awesome! If you like ur movies, check em out!

Simian Mobile Disco's second album is out! Temporary Pleasure is great, and their mixin shit up, shovin' some epic collaborations in it. Featuring the likes of Beth Ditto, Alexis Taylor, Chris Keating and much more. Here's a look at the tracklisting:

Tracklisting

1
Cream Dream (featuring Gruff Rhys)
2
Audacity of Huge (featuring Chris Keating)
3
10000 Horses Can't Be Wrong
4
Cruel Intentions (featuring Beth Ditto)

6
Synthesise
7
Bad Blood (featuring Alexis Taylor)
8
Turn Up The Dial (featuring Young Fathers)

10
Pinball (featuring Telepathe)

But for me, their's nothing like a bit of just plain Simian Mobile Disco shit. Track no. 3! It starts off slow, but then the signature electric beats kick in... and just WOW!

Simian Mobile Disco - 1000 Horses Can't Be Wrong (Right-Click to Save)

I know you guys want the full thing. So here you go! Click Here for the full album. I would give a full album review. But I don't have enough adjectives for how good each track is! Haha.

The Magical World of Kitsuné Maison 4

I was wondering when I'd have to fill in for KZA...

So Kitsuné Maison 4, eh? Looks like I got something good to work with. =)

Ahh, what would a KM compialtion be without a bit of french-electro. This time it's provided by Numero.

Numero - Hit Pop

Wait! Another French-electro track?!?! yep, and it's truly insane!

Riot In Belgium - La Musique (Adam Sky Remix)

Right now I'm into the dirty noise that is Bloody Beetroots and I can feel the similar bass & in-your-face-ness coming off this track.

Phones - Worrying

I wanted to avoid putting up tracks that we've all heard but this song is up there with he greats for me. Boys Noize's Hardcore Electro and some elegant vocals provided by Feist works so well its scary. If you do only play one song on this post, this is it.

Feist - My Moon My Man (Boys Noize Remix)

BAAAAAAAAAN-KAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

Another day, another post. This time I give you a taste of the musical styling of Bankai, a dude who has named himself after a sword level(?) from the anime/manga Bleach.

I'll jus take a few seconds to talk about the anime. Well it's centred round the main character Ichigo Kurosaki, he can see ghosts. Then shit gets trippy... ends up fighting. ALOT. This is what this anime is about, fights. and they be epic! Well click here to get started on it.

Before the music, a little warning: THIS IS SOME LOUD SHIT.

Now here you go, these tracks are all available to download at Bankai's Website. He also uploads the different beats/synths etc. so if you know your way round ableton, you can mess about with the tracks. I've put up my favorites from his EP - Quarter Circle Punch, which includes a great rip into Eve of the War, y'know the funky tune... You'll recognise it when you click the play button. And also a track which samples some of the dialogue from bleach. Great stuff!

Bonaparte - Remuched

READ THIS BEFORE YOU LISTEN: When you listen to this you DON'T really get 21 people and 12 disturbed animals and a real elephant because you wouldn't be ready for that. What we could do with is a house, a chef de cuisine, a gardener, a doctor and a pool - in short an entire ***** hotel. Since you don't have all of that....you get: an album with plus/minus 8 people from the collective risking their private and public lifes for you, dressed as animals or worse some horrific Tinnitus but mucho fun fun fun! so listen to this!
